Lembit Soobik received his B.S.degree in physics in 1962 from Physikalisch Technische Lehranstalt Luebeck, in Germany.

After five years of developing electronic office machines and data acqisition equipment, he joined Texas Instruments in Germany in 1968, where he started the Digital Applications Lab.

During his stay in Houston, Texas during 1969 through 1970 he developed Integrated Circuits for office machines and wrote a Logic Simulation Program.

In 1972 Lembit developed the first Integrated Circuit in TI Germany and founded the IC Design group there.

Besides his design work he has introduced Analog MOS IC Design, improved design methods, and CAD-tools like Computerized Graphic Logic Diagrams. In 1993 Lembit joined as Technical Director for SCM Microsystems from where he retired 1996.
